A behind-the-scenes look at where our ingredients begin.
At Le Puree, we believe that what we feed our little ones should be as fresh, clean, and thoughtful as possible. That’s why we source our produce locally - and recently, our team took a field trip to one of the beautiful local farms that grows ingredients for our meals.
It was more than just a day in the sunshine - it deepened our connection to the food we serve and the people who grow it. Here are 3 things we learned as a team:
1. Seasonality Matters - Even for Babies
Sourcing seasonal produce means working in harmony with nature - and it comes with powerful benefits. When fruits and vegetables are harvested at their natural peak, they’re fresher, more flavourful, and often more nutrient-dense. Because they haven’t been forced to grow out of season or travel long distances, they retain more of their natural goodness and taste just as nature intended.
Shopping seasonally also invites more variety onto our plates - encouraging us to explore a wider range of ingredients throughout the year. This not only keeps meals exciting, but helps ensure little ones are exposed to a diverse array of nutrients, colours, and flavours from the very beginning.
2. Supporting Local = Feeding Community
By choosing local farms, we're not just feeding babies - we're nourishing a much bigger ecosystem. Every ingredient we source locally supports regional economies, sustains small-scale growers, and strengthens the fabric of our food system. It's a conscious choice that reduces transport emissions, keeps supply chains transparent, and helps ensure that quality, freshness, and care are at the heart of every bite.
After a day among the fields, hearing stories and seeing the care behind every harvest, our team left with full hearts and renewed pride in our purpose.
3. Sustainability Starts at the Source
Local, seasonal sourcing isn’t just better for babies — it’s better for the planet. It reduces the need for long-haul transport, excessive packaging, and energy-intensive storage. Working with nearby farms also means aligning with natural growing cycles, which supports more regenerative, low-impact agriculture.
It’s a small but powerful way to tread more lightly - and help create a healthier future for the next generation.
💛 Why It Matters
At Le Puree, our commitment to quality starts at the root - literally. Visiting this farm reminded us that good food isn’t just about nutrients; it’s about care, intention, and transparency.
We’re so proud to source our ingredients locally, and we hope this peek behind the scenes gives you even more confidence in what goes into every spoonful.
