Food

What if my little one doesn’t like the food?

This is always possible! For Bubs we recommend to continously expose baby to even foods they dont like on the first or even second try. It can take up to 15 times for a baby to accept a new food!

For toddlers, we totally get it! More for Mum, Dad or if you have a cute pup :)

Le Puree Vs store-bought what’s the difference?

Here at Le Purée our meals are ...

Made fresh each week, Our meals are made fresh in our Sydney-based kitchen every week. Each meal is made to order.

Nutrients Sustained, Our meals are snap-frozen, meaning they are never stored at room temperature. All nutrients are sustained in our freezing process.

Whole food based & farm fresh ingredients, Our recipes are 100% whole food based. No nasties, additives or preservatives. Plus, our ingredients are never misleading. Our packaging is made to be as transparent as possible.

Delivered to your door, We deliver our meals each week to our customers' front door! We take the stress out of mealtime.

Made with love, Our meals are handmade by our amazing in-house chef team.

Store bought pouches are made with…

High heat pasteurisation, Reduces the nutritional content of the food drastically.

A shelf life of 2 years, The average life of baby food on the shelf at an Australian grocery store is 2 years. Meaning the food your baby is eating is likely older than they are…

Stays at room temperature, Baby food at the shops is stored at room temperature, meaning there are most likely additives or preservatives in the product.

Misleading ingredients, Most options at the grocery store do not accurately present the ingredients in the recipe. For example, a baby food could be called Spinach Delight, but really only includes 1% spinach in the recipe.

While we realise pouch food has its place, we are here to educate, support and inspire mums & dads on the foods our bubs and cubs need to grow and develop optimally.

Are your meals allergen free?

All of our purees are free of the top 9 allergens.

However, some of our bowls and finger foods DO CONTAIN ALLERGENS . All  allergens are listed on the packaging and on the product page on our website.

If you have any specific questions, please reach out to us and we will help guide you on the meals that are free of any particular allergen!

The top 9 allergens are, Milk Dairy, Eggs, Wheat, Soy, Peanuts, Tree Nuts,  Fish, Shellfish, and Sesame seeds

What age can my child eat finger foods & toddler meals?

All of our BLW bowls and finger foods are perfectly suitable for bubs under 1.

We label all of our BLW meals as 1yr+ for parents that are not doing baby led weaning. If you are using the finger foods for baby led weaning, we just always recommend serving under supervision. Some of our BLW meals do start to introduce allergens, so we just like to point that out if you haven’t introduced the specific allergen yet.

This is all individualized because every baby is different so we recommend exposing bub to different textures and flavours and watching their cues on how well they are doing with them.

Is Le Puree compatible with baby led weaning?

Our finger foods can be eaten anytime after 6 months as part of baby led weaning. However we do recommend supervision if practising BLW.

Are your meals certified organic?

Our goal is to provide as many organic ingredients as possible. However, since we source our fresh produce weekly, we opt for organic when available - based on quality and cost. This varies week to week based on the availability from our growers.

All of our ingredients are sourced locally and 100% Australian grown.

We do use 100% Organic Meat - hormone-free & free-range.

We do avoid using any conventional produce from the dirty dozen.

What is the dirty dozen?

This is the top twelve types of produce found to have the highest levels of pesticide residue.

If you have any questions, feel free to send a message to yourvillage@lepuree.com.

Transparency and food safety is always our number one priority.

Why should I subscribe to a meal plan?

We wanted to take the guesswork/stresswork out of starting solids with your bub.

We teamed up with paediatric dieticians and created a meal plan that exposes your Bub to a curated variety of foods, flavours and textures. We rotate our menu every two weeks based on the freshest ingredients!

Our meal plans grow with your baby through both the flavours and texture options. One click and your delivery will arrive every 2 weeks with a new batch of fresh-made, organic food for bub to stash in your freezer. Making convenience that much more convenient. :)

How long can I store the food?

Our meals are made fresh weekly and snap frozen to preserve all the freshness (and important nutrients!). Meals last up to 4 months in the freezer and 48 hours in the fridge. We do not recommend refreezing after a meal has defrosted.

Are your meals pediatrician approved?

Sure are :) We consulted with paediatricians and paediatric dietitians to make sure all of our meals were up to the most recent recommendations!

What is the first 1000 days?

The first 1,000 days refers to a child's life from the moment they are conceived until they have reached 2 years of age (24 months). This is a time when your bubs brain, body and immune system grows and develops significantly.

I have a fussy eater is Le Puree right for me?

It's a great fit because you can expose baby or toddler to a wide variety of foods! Exposure is the most important aspect during this window!

Starting Solids

Can I do baby led weaning with purees?

You sure can! We created almost all of our bowls and finger foods in shapes and sizes suitable for baby led weaning.

When should I start solids?

You will notice Bub show the signs of readiness around the 6 month mark. Here are some signs to look out for!

-Sitting upright without support (or very minimal support) and good head control

-Seems interested in different foods or what you’re eating

-Loses the reflex where they push food out of their mouth

-Wants to chew

-Starting to use their forefinger and thumb to grab food (“pincer” grasp)

When is the best time to offer solids?

The best time is around 5-6 months when baby is showing signs of readiness.

Do you have a starter pack?

Yes! Meet our Starting Solids Bundle. Carefully curated to include our most nourishing and popular blends paired with BLW options.
