Bub's skills required to start solids include sitting in a highchair unassisted, holding up their head & neck and if they've lost the tongue thrust reflex. In order to try purees, they'll need a quiet and relaxed eating environment to work through any lumps or bumps, as they work on these skills of swallowing! Working through finger foods means they'll need to chomp and suck the food, and mash it down with gums/teeth when some breaks off into their mouth.
