10-Month-Old Mealtime Guide: Simple, Balanced Plates for Growing Babies
At 10 months, meals start to look more like… actual meals.
You don’t need anything fancy- just a simple balance on the plate:
• Protein (chicken, beef, lentils, egg, tofu)
• Carbohydrates (soft pasta, rice, potato, toast fingers)
• Vegetables or fruit (steamed, roasted, ripe and soft)
• A source of healthy fat (olive oil, avocado, nut butter)

Think small portions of each, offered together. Not separate courses.
Carefully to steer away from language like “eat this first - and then you can eat that” Just offer variety on the plate.
At this age, babies are learning how foods work together - flavours, textures and smells. They're piecing together what they like (and they’ll let you know about it!)
Milk still plays a role, but solids are now a meaningful contributor to nutrition.
Balanced doesn’t mean perfect. It just means offering a mix and trusting them to explore it. 💛
