When it comes to feeding your baby, the most powerful foods are often the simplest. Whole, unprocessed ingredients, rich in nutrients and free from additives, can lay the strongest foundation for lifelong health.

One such ingredient making a quiet but meaningful comeback in childhood nutrition is gelatin. No, not the fluorescent, sugary jelly from your childhood, but clean, high-quality gelatin derived from grass-fed, pasture-raised animals.

Gelatin is rich in amino acids like glycine and proline, which help soothe and strengthen the gut lining. For babies just starting solids, a calm and resilient digestive system is essential for nutrient absorption, comfort, and long-term immunity.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Nutra Organics Australian Gelatin

  • ½ cup room-temperature water

  • 6 cubes Le Puree Berry Chia Jam (defrosted)

  • ¼ cup honey (optional, 1 yr+)

  • 200ml boiling water

  • Gummy moulds

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the gelatin with the room-temperature water and stir to bloom.

  2. Defrost the chia jam according to packet instructions.

  3. Add the chia jam and optional honey to the bloomed gelatin. Pour in the boiling water and whisk until fully combined.

  4. Carefully spoon or pour the mixture into gummy moulds.

  5. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until set.

Note: These gummies are lightly sweetened. For older kids 1 yr + (or bigger sweet tooths), feel free to add a little more honey.
