Research* suggests that early and consistent exposure to allergy causing foods, as part of a balanced diet, may help reduce the risk of developing food allergies.

This 3 pack helps with continued exposure! Each kit includes 10 of the top allergens, with 3 sachets of each for recommended exposure:

    So helpful!

These were great, especially for some of the allergens we don't typically have at home. It made us feel more confident and comfortable giving them to bub!

*There are 9 top allergenic foods in Australia – but some of these are broad food groups, like tree nuts, which include dozens of varieties. Our product was created with cross-reactivity in mind, because when it comes to allergens, more isn’t always better. Strategic, evidence-based exposure matters.

Frequently Asked Q’s
When can my baby start using Allerstart?
The current recommendations suggest introducing solids by 6 months of age (but not before 4 months) and when your baby shows signs of readiness. Allergens can be introduced as soon as you start solids!
What can I mix Allerstart with?
Allerstart can be mixed with any age-appropriate foods. If a baby has tolerated a food before, it's a good idea to offer one of the allergen sachets with it. Le Puree’s First Bites are a low allergy risk, single-ingredient puree, designed to mix with Allerstart sachets, to take out the guess work!
How to introduce a new allergen?
It is recommended to introduce one allergen at a time. This is in order to easily identify the food, should a reaction occur. We suggest starting with a small quantity of a certain food (e.g. peanut) prepared in a way that is safe for your baby (like powdered form). We think that it is easiest to serve the allergen mixed with a food they've previously tolerated. For Example: AllerStart sachet + Le Puree First Bites Puree cube. Reactions typically occur within 20 minutes and 2 hours after a food is eaten. If no reaction is observed (hopefully) to this food- you can tick off an exposure on our tracker. We recommend trialling each allergen food at least 3 times. If your child has not had a reaction after 3 exposures their risk of having a future allergic reaction is very low.
How do I use Allerstart?
Simply mix one sachet into your baby’s food. One sachet per day, it’s that easy.
What are signs of an allergic reaction?
Skin symptoms: hives, itching or swelling. Tummy troubles: vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain Swelling of the lips, face and eyes
Can I smear allergens on my baby’s skin?
Never smear or rub food on your baby’s skin, especially if they have eczema. This will not help to identify possible food allergies and may cause skin irritation and possibly increase your baby’s risk of developing a food allergy.
What are the signs of anaphylaxis?
Difficult or noisy breathing, swelling of tongue, swelling or tightness in throat, laboured breathing, wheeze or persistent cough, difficulty talking or hoarse voice, persistent dizziness or collapse and pale and floppy (in young children).
What to do if I see a reaction?
If an allergic reaction occurs, you should stop feeding your baby that food and seek medical advice. If your baby is having a reaction, stay with your child to monitor for signs of anaphylaxis. If you see signs of anaphylaxis, dial 000 for urgent help. Going forward, only avoid foods that your baby has had an allergic reaction to.
