Spotlight on Mackerel
Nutritionally, it boasts so much Omega-3 power, as well as being super low in mercury (win win!). Having a low mercury load in your baby’s diet is super important- both in utero and out.
The taste of mackerel is something pretty important for bub's development. It's bold and... fishy, and we love that for you.
Let's get into it!
Omega-3
Its superpowers are...
- Cell membrane building blocks
- Essential for hormone development
- Blood clotting factors
- Support heart functions
- Reduce inflammation
EPA & DHA, “Marine” Omega-3
These are essential forms of Omega-3, which we can only get from eating fish or marine products.
Mackerel is one of the highest sources of EPA & DHA!
Low in Mercury
Because it’s a teeny, tiny fish!
A low mercury fish is good news. Especially for bub in the First 1000 Days.
It’s... fishy
And that’s a good thing!
Building taste buds to strong flavours from day one means that bub will more likely be an adventurous eater, willing to try new and exciting foods later on!
