FINGER FOODS & BOWLS

FAQ's

When can I start finger foods?

Finger foods are great to offer when starting solids which are at or around 6 months of age.. We recommend soft and mushable foods that your baby can hold in their fist. Make sure to always monitor the baby when serving finger foods. Check out our starting solids bundle which include great finger food options!

What's the best way to heat your finger foods?

We recommend heating in small increments in the microwave or warmed up in the oven for best consistency. Remember to cover meals in the microwave with a paper towel or loose cover to ensure moisture isn't lost!

How long do your meals last?

Our meals are made fresh weekly and snap frozen to preserve all the freshness (and important nutrients!). Meals last up to 4 months in the freezer and 48 hours in the fridge. We do not recommend refreezing after a meal has defrosted.

When can my bub start Le Puree?

Your bub can start Le Puree as soon as they are ready to start their solids journey. This often falls between 4 and 6 months of age. If you have questions on whether bub is ready to start solids have a chat with your GP.

Not sure where to start? Try our Starting Solids Bundle which features combination feeding as well as our Starting Solids Guide. Our recipes are curated and created by dieticians and made fresh by our in-house chef team.

My baby refuses to eat

Babies refuse to eat for a number of reasons, and very few of them are within our control. The division of responsibility tells us that our job as their caregiver is to offer nutritious, stable and suitable meals. Their job as the baby is to decide what and how much they’d like to eat. This works for 99% of the time (e.g. when babies eat some meals, and refuse the next).

If your baby is past 6 months and refuses to eat anything at any meal, it’s worth chatting with your healthcare professional! After 6 months they do actually need some of the nutrients from solid food, so making sure that they have adequate nutrition while you work through any barriers is a great idea!

How do I serve your finger foods?

We mould and shape our finger foods so that they can be heated and served whole to your baby. You can modify into smaller pieces as baby develops more skills to pick up small pieces but they can  also be served whole which can be easier for the baby to manage.

Are your meals dietitian approved?

Yes! They sure are :) Our meals are designed and curated by our in-house dietitian - an expert in infant nutrition

Are your meals certified organic?

We aim to use as many organic ingredients as possible, but availability can vary week to week. All our produce is locally sourced and 100% Australian grown. We always use 100% organic, hormone-free, and free-range meat, and avoid conventional produce from the "dirty dozen" (the top twelve with the highest pesticide levels).

For any questions, reach out to yourvillage@lepuree.com. Transparency and food safety are our top priorities!

Are your meals allergen free?

Our meals are not completely allergen-free, as we include common allergens like nuts and dairy in certain recipes based on recent evidence-backed studies. Introducing allergens early can help support tolerance in babies. However, we clearly label all allergens and offer a variety of options to suit different dietary needs. Always check the ingredients if you have specific concerns!

How many meals a day should I offer my baby?

When starting solids, we suggest starting with 1 meal/d. This is because milk is their primary source of nutrition, and we just introduce solids to get them used to it. By 9 months old, we anticipate they’ll be consuming 2 meals/d as well as their milk schedule, and by 10-11 months, this will increase to 3 meals/d.
