If you’ve ever walked into a baby store or a baby fair, you’d know that sinking feeling of overwhelm. Not only are there hundreds of feeding products to choose from, but they’re all so expensive, and you just didn’t realise having a baby would cost this much.
Between the highchairs, the cutlery, crockery, bibs, food trays, food nets, food catchers…. Who can keep track?!
Today we’re breaking down our FIVE top products for starting solids, to get you sorted!
Much like you need food to eat, you need Le Puree to Start Solids.
There are dozens of purees to choose from- meat, vegetables, porridges and the list goes on. Not only that, but Le Puree allows you to choose your texture of the puree- between smooth, textured and chunky! Perfect for those babies who want to explore more textures as they develop through the oral motor milestones.
For those independent bubs who’d prefer to start solids with Baby Led Weaning, Le Puree has finger foods ranging from Coconut Chia Pudding to Beef & Liver Meatballs. There’s something for every taste bud, and we think exposure through Le Puree’s huge range of flavours and textures is the ultimate way to start solids.
Catchy is the best accessory when those first mouthfuls start. You underestimate the mess someone so small can make, and Catchy is there to catch it all and save your floors. It has been expertly designed to make mealtimes a breeze for parents, and fun for your little one. Waterproof, durable and easy to clean, Catchy is made from a non-toxic material so you can safely re-offer dropped food to your little human, or pop it in a reusable bowl and pop it in the fridge for another time. Catchy is a must have, as it saves your food, your floors and your sanity!
Not only are silicone bowls and plates non-toxic, they’re a non negotiable for a food-and-plate-throwing baby. The very last thing you need is for your fine dinner plates to be smashed on the floor while you turn your back for a split second.
Le Puree’s silicone bowls and plates have been designed with a suction to keep them firmly planted on the table.
The cutlery is soft and malleable, which means bub will never cut their lip on any sharp bits. The bibs we have designed are soft, with a generously large scoop neck- which is great for collecting second helpings of dinner!
Our favourite Le Puree accessory is the sippy cup which converts to a snack holder. This beauty is a winner for car trips, and for when the “I do it!!” phase kicks in, and there’s no help from anyone allowed!
We have a huge 40% off all accessories sale now on- rush over to get yours before they go!
From the mamas and nutrition experts at Boob To Food, a new book has been released which helps to untangle the confusing messages of weaning.
With this book, they aim to cut through the clutter of available food options, feeding methods and scientific recommendations – all of which can lead to confusion, doubt and even fear.
This book is to help guide you on this journey. It entails evidence-based and judgement-free advice to equip you with the confidence and knowledge to navigate this exciting time in your baby's life, whilst supporting their delicate digestive system and nutritional needs.
Now this is something that’s very hard to live without. Choosing your highchair can be overwhelming and daunting, but it doesn’t have to be! We couldn’t choose one, so here are our two favourites:
The iconic Stokke Tripp Trapp has an intelligent design, which grows with your child. It provides a comfortable, ergonomic seat at any age and is completely adjustable. It has been made to fit right up to your dining table to bring your baby into the heart of your family, allowing your bub to learn to eat, learn, play and develop alongside you. It’s suitable from day one of starting solids, with adjustable foot plate positions and is adjustable right through to when they’re big kids sitting at the table next to you!
Not to mention that it’s aesthetically beautiful, and comes in a range of colours.
Without all the bells and whistles that come with many highchairs these days, the IKEA Antilop still ticks all the boxes. It’s simple and slim design means that it won’t stand out in any furniture collaborations. It has a plastic chair and table, which is super easy to wipe clean after those messy, messy meals. The removable foot rest makes it ergonomically stable for bubs learning to eat, and the removable cushion means that those babies who don’t quite fill out the chair can be snuggly supported.
IKEA may not be the fanciest chair around, but it’s simple to assemble and pull apart for road trips, and you really can’t go past the extremely affordable price point!
